Isabel Allende: How to live passionately—no matter your age…

ted We have curated the post below from TED because we felt that it was a very interesting and an appropriate way of delivering a presentation on the topic of living passionately and because we wanted to introduce TED (an acronym for Technology, Entertainment and Design) to anyone who may not be aware of it. We feel that  the  presentations at TED are always good for expanding ones horizons and the topic of … How to live passionately—no matter your age piqued our interest as a topic that applies in all areas of life — work, play or otherwise. Be prepared for an adult presentation. Enjoy…

“because the spirit never ages” …the key jewel of this speech. Why do we pay all of our attention to the body — it WILL die, but very, very little to the spirit which lives eternally? “Be passionate” is a nice command, but knowing who you are and what your purpose is has to be acknowledged first. Schools don’t teach reflection, meditation, or the ripples you create from your actions that pours out to all the others you share this world with. “Group Think” has turned us away from who we are as individuals and what we were meant to do and be. If you had a loving parent or grandparent, you know that you didn’t spend time worrying that they were “looking old” — you relished the way they made you feel loved. Mother Teresa most probably wouldn’t have won a beauty contest…but her love and servitude towards others was beautiful…and still lives. Be forever kind until your last breath so your spirit can live eternal.
